It was precisely one year back when Bharti-Walmart JV announced the launch of its convenience stores, Easy Day, in Punjab. “It was a sensible decision to open stores in Punjab and will benefit Bharti in operational terms as it’s for the first time that such stores are being opened in Punjab,” avers R. Though the venture, like others, has been affected by the slowdown, it’s still better off than others. The strategy has definitely worked to the last tee.
